Spam Tops Trending Topics

spam-trending Imagine my surprise this morning when I first saw my Twitter page and noticed the #1 trending topic was “Start Making $60-100″ which obviously isn’t the name of a new movie or the latest news about Miley Cyrus. No, it’s obviously spam and as you can see from the results page, Twitter figured that out too, even though the topic is still at the top of the list.

@JacobMouritzen When you said you could hide the entire sidebar I assumed you meant ads too. Better Facebook does that.
@JacobMouritzen I hid chat months ago but that doesn't hide the ads. Why would Facebook let us hide ads? ;)
